The Ferme des Etoiles is a large Gascony homestead located in the village of Mauroux in the heart of the picturesque Gers. Sited on the crest of a hill under an impressively clear sky, the Ferme des Etoiles is the ideal vantage point to admire the heavenly vault and to make the most of the region’s wealth of sights.
Because of its original features, the site was selected by the French Astronomy Association as one of the France’s eight European facilities branded a “Night Station”.
It can accommodate 15 people in high-quality guest quarters and 15 people in wooden chalets in the park during the summer. Its spacious gardens, swimming pool and reading room make it a great stopover in the heart of the Gers countryside.
The Ferme des Etoiles also boasts powerful equipment and a comprehensive range of observation instruments.
It has a planetarium, a photo lab, a library, a big selection of telescopes and observation platforms. It also has one of the world’s biggest pair of binoculars providing outstanding images of the sky and a 620 mm telescope ranking amongst the biggest amateur scopes in France.
If you’re arriving from the A62 motorway.
